Redefining Insurer Tactics
4/1/2008
I just wanted to express my gratitude for publishing the article on the real meanings of everyday terms used in the body shop
[“The Unofficial Collision Repair Dictionary: Part II,” February, pg. 82].
It was one of the best articles I've read in a long time. It basically
spells out how scummy insurance companies are and how illegal it is to
do half the things they do.
One of our shops is located across the street from a lawn mower repair
facility, and we scratch our heads at the fact that we get paid $44 per
hour to fix a Mercedes Benz, BMW, etc., and they’re getting $75 per
hour to fix a weed whacker. Something’s wrong with that picture.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you again for publishing such a good and
enlightening article. Hopefully, it will wake some people up and help
the non-DRPs to stop rolling over.
